Our Milestone

1977

Lensa Film Sdn. Bhd. was formed by Dato Ahmad Sean with merely 3 individuals in the company including himself, operating from Level 2, Bangunan UDA, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

1978

Lensa Film was entrusted to produce 6 TV commercials for the Indonesian market. With these jobs well-executed, the floodgates were opened. Many other jobs were received, and some of the high-profile ones are Westport Millenium TVC, F&N Sweetened Condensed Milk TVC, Coca-Cola 'The Singing Fridge' TVC and Fido Dido TVC.

1979

We moved to our new office at No. 14, Jalan Datuk Sulaiman 1, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur.

1985

The nation's Animation industry was mostly an untapped market. Dato Sean knew of this, and he was well aware of the massive potential that it holds for Lensa Film and the country. With this in mind, he daringly formed Malaysia's first ever Animation company, Lensamation Sdn Bhd

As the saying goes, the fruit does not fall far from the tree. Like its parent company, Lensamation was a success; as they landed a lucrative contract to produce Japanese Cartoons (Anime) from TOEI DOGA Animation (TDA), Japan. In the early stages, 6 artistes were selected to be trained under TDA. A year later, Lensa Film brought 5 animation experts from Japan to train more than 70 local animation artistes, all within the period of 2 years. These individuals were given the chance to work while being trained at the same time and this has contributed to the development of the nation's animation industry.

The trust given by TOEI DOGA Animation Japan to Lensamation Sdn. Bhd. was a testament to how talented our local artistes are.

2002

We moved to our current building at Wisma Lensa, No.1, Jalan Kasah, Medan Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur. With this move, Lensa Film has finally become a one stop centre for film / video production, as everything is done under one roof. Lensa Film offers all production facilities, and these equipments are anchored by a committed and experienced workforce.

2005

This year saw Kacang making a big impact on the ratings, attracting both kids and adults. Special episodes of Kacang were also produced to commemorate certain events such as Hari Raya and Chinese New Year.

2007

Lensa Film's creative team scored another first, in the form of Ranggi; Malaysia's first ever claymation TV series. Besides giving the audience a taste of Malaysian humour, Ranggi is also informative; with agriculture being the main focus.
